Founded in 2001 by then 11-year-old Torey Pudwill, Grizzly began with a simple metal cut out stamp that Torey's father created while working as a machinist. (watch the full video here) Using the metal stamp and a mallet, Torey would hand carve the logo into griptape sheets. Today the Grizzly logo is a mark of superior quality and a symbol of its strong foundation in skateboarding culture. The brand has since grown from its humble beginnings as a basic cut out into a full apparel collection focusing on detailed quality garments. Grizzly enters the New Year with its 6th collection of apparel by launching the brand’s Spring 2016 collection.
Owned by Torey and partners Sean Apgar and Nick Tershay, Grizzly is operating independently out of its flagship store and design studio on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles. The Spring 2016 collection features two deliveries of quality outdoor and athletically inspired goods with a focus on earning it’s place as an industry innovator one garment at a time. Grizzly’s Spring 2016 drop is set to hit all chapter stores and grizzlygriptape.com January 22nd, 2016. Grizzly's second delivery will be available Late February, 2016.
